Only 26% of universities and four year colleges in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) have a faculty experts directory. Here is a complete list of the ones that exist.

While working as a journalist I could never find a such a list, so I know it will be valuable to the media to find faculty experts to interview as well as to researchers and industry members looking for an academic to work with. With only a quarter of New England’s leading higher education institutions with a database of experts it speaks to the human and financial challenges. IT alone to maintain a directory is costly. With so much competition from other sites and Google, a directory must be up to date and optimized for Google or the investment is not worthwhile.
